Light Combat Helicopter up again with more test flights




India’s Light Combat Helicopter has successfully carried  five more tests recently and the frequency of the tests are progressing well over HAL’s Bangalore complex. Light Combat Helicopter unexpected first flight which happened on March 29 was first reported by idrw.org .
current phase of the Light Combat Helicopter are mostly to check the engine performance , LCH does have the same engine which powers the Dhruv helicopters but since it been a new platform this test needs to be carried out . further tests will be carried out around India to test Helicopters performance under different topical whether conditions and parameters .
Lch’s test flights have been carried out Wing Cmdr Unni Pillai and Wng Cmdr Hari Nair . it has been also made cleared that LCH PT-1 will not be weaponized and only the second LCH PT-2 will be weaponized ,PT-2 will be making its first flight by the end of this year , while the third and the last prototype PT-3 will be given to Air force for their evaluations .
Air force will order around 70 of this combat helicopters and Indian Army which desperately want to start its own combat air fleet will also be placing orders for it , LCH numbers will go above 100 from the Army which wants it for Anti-Tank operations and to support ground troops in event of war . Army is also considering using them against Terrorist who operate in mountainous region of Kashmir
